MGM GRAND DETROIT ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF NEW POSITIONS FOR KEY PERSONNEL

DETROIT – March 27, 2009 - MGM Grand Detroit today announced the creation of two new positions, and a new public relations agency of record. Effective immediately, Juliette Thorpe Okotie Eboh assumes the title of Senior Vice President of Public Affairs; Lisa Alvino assumes the title of Assistant Director of Retail and Corporate Sustainability; and the Commerce Communications Group becomes MGM Grand Detroit's public relations agency of record.
Juliette Thorpe Okotie-Eboh, Ph.D.
Since 2003, Okotie-Eboh served as MGM Grand Detroit's SVP of Community Affairs, responsible for determining the Company's charitable and community activities, and serving as liaison between the Company and community leaders. As SVP of Public Affairs, Okotie-Eboh now takes on the added responsibility of developing and implementing MGM Grand Detroit's strategic government affairs agenda at the local, state, and federal levels; overseeing communications/media relations initiatives for the Company; and serving as the public spokesperson for MGM Grand Detroit.
Lisa Alvino
Since 2007, Alvino has served as Assistant Director of Retail, responsible for: Developing, administering, and adjusting retail, financial and merchandising plans in order to meet customer needs; managing the retail team to ensure efficient staffing, employee development and training; assisting in developing retail tie-in programs; and performing management and policy enforcement. As Assistant Director of Retail & Corporate Sustainability, Alvino assumes the added responsibility of: Overseeing MGM Grand Detroit's day-to-day and special sustainability programs; coordinating with department managers to educate them on how sustainability such as waste and energy efficiency affects their business and operations; and advising the property on best sustainability practices.
Commerce Communications Group
The Commerce Communications Group (CCG) has been retained by MGM Grand Detroit as its agency of record for communications, media, and public relations. CCG also handles the coordination of governmental relations efforts at the local, state, and federal levels for the $800 million entertainment venue.
Jamaine Dickens, CCG's principal, is a public affairs veteran who has served as a communications, media, and outreach advisor to local, state, and Presidential campaigns. He has held positions such as Director of Public Affairs for Leon County, FL; Communications Director for the Michigan House of Representatives' Democratic Caucus; and Communications Director and spokesman for the city of Detroit.
