It is the mission of MGM Grand Detroit to strengthen communities in which we operate. With the understanding that one company cannot meet the multitude of needs each community faces, it is our priority to strengthen organizations and programs that are located where our team members live, work and care for their families. As a result, we are entrenched in the fabric of life across our area and deeply committed to our region's continued resurgence.

Supporting Our Troops | MGM Grand Detroit Welcomes 'Boots to Business'

When it comes to serving our community, MGM Grand Detroit believes that we can never get enough of a good thing, especially when that good thing supports men and women that have served our country. That is why we take great pride in the extension of the "Boots to Business" to southeast Michigan.

Operated by the American Red Cross and made possible by a grant from MGM Resorts International, "Boots to Business" assists veterans who are searching for employment by offering resume review and interview preparation. With MGM Grand Detroit on board, the program now identifies recruits and hires veterans into positions at MGM Grand Detroit and other area employers. The program also offers ongoing support through mentoring and networking.

"This is a part of a growing partnership across the United States between the Red Cross and MGM Resorts International," said LaForice Nealy, regional executive officer for the American Red Cross' Southeastern Michigan region. "Our community should know and appreciate that MGM Grand Detroit has very targeted and specific programs to help people. This is a great investment in our veterans."

SWEEP - Service While Enhancing Employee Passions

In 2014, MGM Grand Detroit team members participated in volunteerism efforts each month within the local community for SWEEP. During SWEEP, our team members volunteered at many organizations including: Gleaners Food Bank, The Baldwin Center, Playworks, The Greening of Detroit, Focus: HOPE, Go Getters - Southwest Solutions, and Forgotten Harvest. Team members volunteered over 6,000 hours in 2014 while engaging in activities to help empower youth, completing beautification projects and helping package food for those in need.
